Van Cleef & Arpels, a centenary leading house of high jewelry and watchmaking, has earned a reputation for maintaining the highest standards in design, quality and craftsmanship in all of its pieces. Turning gold and precious stones into inspiring artworks of singular perfection and beauty, Van Cleef & Arpels is presenting its new collection, where handmade work stands out.
True virtuosos of their craft, the jewellers, polishers, designers and gem setters of Van Cleef & Arpels are dedicated and truly passionate about what they do.
All the creative process begins in Van Cleef & Arpels’ design studio. Here, imaginative artists use their inspiration to create a first drawing of what will eventually become a one-of-a-kind Van Cleef & Arpels jewel.
After the drawing room, the jewel design makes its way to the moke-up workshop, where experienced mock-upmakers create a mock-up of the jewel using pewter and strass crystals.
The designers at Van Cleef & Arpels use stones with the highest standards of quality and purity, as well as other material such as coral or turquoise.
The Mystery Set, invented by Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1930’s, it’s a different kind of setting techniques and has become one of its signature techniques. The Mystery Set allows for the gems to be set next to one another using small hidden grooves on which the gems are slid onto; each stone requires from two to four hours of work to be set in this way, and only a dozen of people in the entire world have the know how to properly use this technique.
