Peter Marino’s Rocky Mountain Ski Retreat

Peter Marino, considering one of the best interior designers in the field, is confidently crafting his ultimate ski getaway. The sensational Rocky Mountain retreat was designed for himself and his wife, and was inspired by a trip he took with his daughter, Isabelle, to the Galápagos Islands.

Today, Boca do Lobo takes you into a tour through this luxury getaway, giving you some interior design inspirations and ideas for cold season.


While the side of the house that backs up to the mountain features walls of solid stone along the main level, the opposite façade is dominated by expanses of glass that capture stunning views of the high-altitude terrain and the twinkling lights of the town below.


peter marinoDescribing the home as a sporty ski chalet, Marino says he purposely limited the primary materials to a few simple elements: cedar, stucco, and slate.

peter marinoThe master bath is sheathed in a highly figured rosa candoglia marble that Marino found on a buying trip to Carrara, Italy. The lighting, mirrors, and vanity were also devised by the architect.
