La Forêt Noire is just a stunning luxury restaurant design the French interior design studio, Claude Cartier. The whimsical restaurant located in the French city of Lyon has a distinct identity with a unique modern design.
This industrial space with the aesthetic of the 18th century was the starting point for the interior design project. It inspired me the name, The Black Forest, which offers a double reading: landscape and dessert. “It all started with Wall & Decò wallpaper” Midsummer Night “, which immediately seduced us”. The wallpaper was highlighted by charming elements like brass details, mixed with subtle combinations of green velvet chairs, enhanced by the black and white graphic marble floor. The design lighting set of Marie Lise Fery for Magic Circus irradiates the place with majesty.
Behind large black doors, in a space that can be reserved, the interior designer brought a foliage floods the ground, with the colorful and bold carpet designed by Dimore Studio for Pierre Freyer.
The interior designer was able to create separate spaces within the large 350-meter square floor plate and each space with its own style but the harmony between spaces is flawless.
The luxury restaurant has a distinctly 70’s vibe with a lavish and luxurious decor. Although it was Claudia Cartier first restaurant project this is no ordinary bistro. And no doubt vastly in part because by not having any preconceived ideas about what a restaurant should look like, one is open to an entire host of original ones. And the main reason for this is that the designer didn’t have any preconceived ideas about what a luxury restaurant should look like, she was open to let creativity speak for itself.
