Kate Moss, the latest supermodel to join the growing list of celebrities to have a swing at interior design. Teaming up with the best, YOO – the prolific UK based interior design studio – Moss’ debut project had her design the interior of a £2.5 million five-bedroom house located in The Lakes. The Barnhouse, as it is called, is part of a development of Yoo holiday homes, located on a 263 hectare estate on an old former quarry in the Cotswalds.
Ten years ago, Philippe Starck, one of world’s most renowned designers, and John Hitchcox, the international property entrepreneur, came together with a ground-breaking concept. They set out to create a world-class design and development business that could focus the singular visions of the world’s leading designers – the YOO Studio. With the birth of the YOO also emerged the concept of Yoo holiday homes, which now Kate Moss joined.
Inside, the country house includes five bedrooms spread across two floors. It is distinguished by it’s open end kitchen and master bedroom, which brings out a real glamour touch with a thick grey plush carpet and a mirrored four poster bed.
The house’s furniture was made by a local craftsman, David Haddock, who worked with Moss in the past. Moreover, the supermodel took the creative process to the finest detail, by choosing the country home’s artwork, with pieces by Damien Hirst and Allen Jones
Yoo, founded by entrepreneur John Hitchcox and the emblematic French designer Philippe Starck, specialises in architecture and interiors, has done collaborative work with Jade Jagger, Kelly Hoppen and Marcel Wanders, of Moooi.
