With a remarkable story behind her, Rachel Laxer, started off as a commodities trader and emerging markets trader. She was relocated to Tokyo, where her passion for art and architecture deepened, thanks to the city’s aesthetic and artistic culture. Having studied with a Japanese art historian and architect, Rachel’s talent was picked up by Kelly Hoppen, who hired her for her fresh approach to design, and exceptional international eye.
Having founded Rachel Laxer Interiors (RLI) in 2007, the MBA graduate quickly embarked on several international projects both in North America, and London, dividing her time between both countries.
The project above took Rachel to Silicone Valley, where she specified two Boca do Lobo pieces, the Neapoli mirror above, and a custom Bonzai Dining Table in a bespoke burgundy colour. Blending several geometric forms, textures and contemporary elements, within a pale colour pallet, complemented with burgandy tones, Rachel and her team completed the living room with plenty of room for each of the pieces to breathe, yet remaining cozy throughout.
