The selection of design furniture, desirable photographic prints, the pool lined with palm trees and green lawns, marble floors brings a Californian flair and a Hollywood glamour to the house in the beautiful neighborhoods of the Portuguese city.
“We dreamed of a Palm Springs style pavilion,” Artur Miranda. They confess that the last home was the dark-hued apartment in the city center, and now they were looking for a white-washed house by the sea.
The old one-story buildings are rare in Porto, the duo had been eyeing since some time already on this villa built in 1958 when they saw a sign for sale, they didn’t think twice and bought it right away. “The lawn around the house was dotted with four-leaf clovers: it was auspicious!” said Jacques Bec.
Whether it is the vast living room, “we like to receive, we needed space”, or private spaces, all rooms were designed with the maximum attention to refinement and comfort.
“This house fits our lifestyle, says Artur Miranda. The majority of the work has consisted in fluidizing its circulation, opening up the building on the garden with glass doors. We love gardening, spending time outdoors “.
The unique design elements are harmonized by a luxurious color range: white, black and caramel. These tones are found in the bedroom, the living room, the dining room as well as in the dressing room. “We design interior architecture as a form of a frame,” says Artur Miranda. The furniture will change over time depending on our craze. Only the works on the walls will remain. ”
