Contemporary artwork can now be seen at Aïshti Foundation. After three years of construction by the hands of renowned British architect David Adjaye, this cultural center has finally opened its doors to the public. Headquartered in Beirut, this complex is expected to present contemporary artwork from private collections, as well as art galleries, retail outlets and leisure spaces.
Named “New Skin”, the inaugural exhibition will showcase several works from Tony Salamé, CEO of luxury brand Aïshti, that counts with more than 2000 pieces. The display brings together works that expand and transform the language of abstraction, imagining new relationships between surface, texture and form.
Besides, the exhibition also focuses on recent experiments in painting and sculpture while establishing a speculative lineage that stretches from the sensuous surfaces of Agostino Bonalumi, Enrico Castellani, and Piero Manzoni to the work of many contemporary artists.
