Design lovers are soon traveling to Miami, where Art Basel Miami Beach and Design Miami/ are taking place. The two events, together with a host of offsite installations, exhibitions, workshops, talks and creative programming, take over the seaside city in monumental Miami fashion. Today, we bring to you the must-see art galleries to explore at this year’s edition of Basel Miami.
In the American show, leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant work from the masters of modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars.
At the wonderful Art Basel Miami 2018 showcase, you can’t miss the outstanding Kasmin’s participation. Paul Kasmin Gallery was founded in SoHo in 1989 and, since then, its program focus on historic modernist and post-war artists and on the dialogue between them and the most recent aspiring talents.
The gallery supports Constantin Brancusi, William N. Copley, Max Ernst, Simon Hantaï, Jane Freilicher, and Robert Motherwell. Its goal is also to start the development of artistic careers. Among the contemporary artists, Kasmin represents, we can mention: Walton Ford, Robert Indiana, Iván Navarro, Les Lalanne, and Roxy Paine.
MASSIMO DE CARLO
When in Miami, don’t forget to pay a visit to Massimo De Carlo, one of the best international art galleries that will be present at the event. The gallery was founded in Milan in 1987 and started its curatorial mission in the cold of November with a showcase of art pieces by Oliver Mosset. In its long thirty years of history, Massimo De Carlo always was in the spotlight, connecting the talented artists and the worldwide institutions dedicated to art.
SOLO EXHIBITION BY THE HAAS BROTHERS
For the first time, The Haas Brothers‘ exquisite designs will be showcased in a solo exhibition, called Ferngully, by The Bass Museum. The exhibition will present the best of their new and recent art pieces and is organized around the concept of precarity and regenerative properties of nature, a cycle of rebirth.
Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, one of the best art galleries in the world, will gift us with its presence at Art Basel Miami 2018. The gallery maintains its extraordinary contemporary program for over 20 years and now supports more than 30 renowned international artists.
Tanya Bonakdar’s mission is to showcase the best of all the different art fields: painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video, among others. It organizes more than ten rotation exhibitions by its artists each year.
