THE SOHO SIDEBOARD AND COLECCIONISTA

The similar styles of designs of these pieces are not by chance. Both of these designs were among some of the first creations Boca do Lobo brought into the world. Soho is the name of Boca do Lobo’s first furniture collection. The drawers on both creations count different and varied techniques from glass to wood, lacquer colour to mirror and gold leaf, finely refined by brass handles.

It was with the launch of these products that a path was discovered, which gave room to a new way of thinking and design attitude that ends up becoming a language, a soul, a style: the Boca do Lobo style, that mixes techniques and styles of past with contemporary design. –  Marco Costa

DIAMOND FAMILY

Projected to be the jewel in the crown of the Portuguese brand Boca do Lobo, the Diamond Sideboard is a reflection of the furniture jeweller’s expertise and quintessence, undoubtedly deserving its title. This opulent object, full of resources and desire, has two carefully sculpted doors that reveal a gold lined interior with a shelf and two drawers. But because we never settle, we continued to evolve this creation with the aid our trusting craftsmanship techniques, the Diamond Metamorphosis was born. The finest craftsmanship arises from the perfect marriage between ancient skills and mechanical methods to conceive the real expression of exclusivity and high collectable design.

Diamond was the first major challenge that mixed the modernist style and resulted in an unlikely combination. It was our intention to create two separate moments: a modern appealing visual confronted with a cultural discomfort due to its lion feet.   –  Marco Costa

MONDRIAN SIDEBOARD

When art becomes a sideboard your room acquires an evermore-inspiring atmosphere. The Mondrian sideboard is more art than utilitarian furniture. Undoubtedly, it constitutes a unique and collectable object that is different from anything else and exudes a sense of both experimental design and luxury. The sideboard’s base is composed by mahogany and tempered glass makes the box. It also contains carved drawers finished in high gloss coloured lacquer.

A combination of techniques that result from 18 different suppliers to achieve it. A handle here, a beveled mirror there, manual carving drawers and much more in a set of drawers of this piece that is strangely functional. – Marco Costa

HERITAGE SIDEBOARD

Hand-painted-tiles have gained a privileged place in architecture throughout the centuries. Portugal has adopted them like no other country has and to honour the Portuguese hand-painted tiles, Boca do Lobo created Heritage Sideboard. This piece presents a different number of layers, where each one tells a different story. Completely covered with the iconic Portuguese azulejos, the interior of this sideboard is equally stunning, featuring four drawers fully lined with gold leaf.

It was the first piece made in tiles by Boca do Lobo and the pleasure of exploring the technique was so great. It also resulted in one of the brand’s best sellers and one of the most representative products in Portugal and in Portuguese design. – Marco Costa

PIXEL CABINET

Iconic and unparalleled, the Pixel Cabinet presents a ground-breaking work of pioneering design. Made out of 1088 triangles, the upper part of the Pixel Cabinet plays with perception and combines exceptional materials with multicoloured compositions to give the cabinet a unique, striking design: handmade leaf gilding triangles, 10 different types of wood leafs from palisander to African walnut veneer, and lacquering. Behind its two doors, this bar cabinet surprises with a timeless combination of aged mirror and a diamond quilted blue silk fabric, containing nine interior drawers, each one with its golden knob. The polished brass base gives Pixel a unique and sophisticated character.

Special product, made in 2009 by the design studio of Boca do Lobo led by Marco Costa. Symbolizing the change, it was a product that broke the line drawn until then. Today it is one of the most loved pieces, loved by the press, loved by design afficcionatos and one of Boca do Lobo’s best sellers ever. – Marco Costa

Below the expansive 8 seat dining tabletop is an elegant composition of two scaled organic brass tubes.

Due to a great number of custom requests, we had to create The Eden Series which presents various sizes and combinations to fulfill every customer’s needs. – Marco Costa

VERSAILLES FAMILY

The creativity and rich decoration of the Versailles Palace contributed to the inspiration for the creation of this exuberant furniture design. Boca do Lobo opens the way to freedom and the need for bringing extravagant creations to life. Both the sofa and the armchair are made in a wood structure and feature panels in a manual sculpture, produced in resin and finished with restoration techniques similar to stone.

IMPERFECTIO FAMILY

The Imperfectio Family is the expression of imperfect aesthetic, the appeal of that which is authentic art that is truer to life. These furniture designs praise artisanal work as the ultimate form of art that is quite intentionally imperfect. Through its unique existence and shapes, Imperfectio determines its history. The irregularities and flaws over the manual hammered brass expose the beauty of imperfection. Some parts are roughly asymmetrical at the surface yet comfortable and smooth in a peculiar way to excite a desire for complementing your living room.

The Imperfectio Family was created in 2017, only a few years ago and it is already one of our best sellers. Its metal technique makes it unique and all pieces are one-of-a-kind. – Marco Costa

NEWTON CONSOLE

Newton is an outstanding moment of inspiration. A revolutionary statement piece created to fulfil the needs of those who are looking for the best in contemporary furniture design mixed up with exquisite details and high-quality materials. Defying the laws of physics, the Newton black and gold console has grown from the ancient art of casting metal, where metal is heated until molten into spheres and semi-spheres shape. One by one, each element is joint to produce an outstanding pattern and organic structure, finished in a dramatic black lacquer and gold plated accents. The top of this console table is composed of brass circles carved with a golden texture similar to an organic wood texture. A contemporary console that carries cultural legacy while successfully move towards the future, remaining ahead of the design scene. A real expression of exclusivity and high collectable craftsmanship outcome.

Inspired by Venetian Mirrors, each piece that composes the Venice was manually and individually bevelled and fitted onto a wooden structure.

It was an almost impossible task to find the right hands to create the Venice Mirror according to what I have envisioned. We did not stop looking for the right artist and after one year and a half, the first Venice was born. – Marco Costa

FILIGREE MIRROR

The Filigree Mirror resorts to one of the oldest jewellery making techniques known, filigree. Completely handcrafted, with each brass cord fitted with precision, the Filigree Mirror flourishes in a shape traditional to Portuguese culture and art.
