Nowadays the metalwork process can be truly artful to conceive a wide range of large-scale structures, assemblies, to the most unique designs. It requires discipline, vision, and strength. Since early, Boca do Lobo has not restrained to use different processes and tools to shape its furniture designs, by giving our pieces rough yet powerful expressions.
Eden Gold Center Table
One of the processes we appreciated the most is the art of metalwork, where the metal is heated until molten into a chosen shape and size. The process starts by melting metal into a liquid, pouring it in a mould with a cavity of the desired shape, removing the material, or casting after the final work gets cool and then solidified. The solidified part can be ejected or even broken out of the mould. Metalwork is one of the most used techniques for making intricate forms that would be difficult to have from other methods, including sand casting.
