Designed by Jacques Grange, this luxury home truly enhances the essence of the lord of high fashion design, Christian Louboutin. Located in the heart of Paris, when stepping inside of this modern apartment, it’s like you are taken right into the core of the designers’ mind, a life-scale sketch of what it’s like to have this stunning contemporary design ideas running inside of your head.

“It was just an attic with a lot of small rooms. I decided right away that I wanted it.” Louboutin finally settled on a theme inspired by the 1944 cult film Kismet starring Marlene Dietrich. “A movie set in the 1940s, taking place in Paris—with an Egyptian feeling,” is how he describes his abode.

The fantastical footwear designer has created a luxury home that reflects his many, many passions, which he feeds on his equally countless travels and adventures. Louboutin worked with Passebon and his partner, celebrated interior decorator Jacques Grange to find the right place for each of the pieces the designer wanted to have in his home.

“I always pick up objects on my travels, and they are always well documented,” he says, explaining that he buys continuously and keeps everything in storage because “everything will come together one day”. “You only regret what you don’t get,” he continues.

Never one to turn down colour advice from the man who has all but trademarked red for the soles of his signature shoes and following the greatest and latest design trends, this luxury home turned out to be the perfect fit for the man that reigns on the fashion world. The main space is an open-plan living room where Louboutin has referenced the mahogany red tiles he once saw in the chapel of the National Azulejo Museum in Lisbon, Portugal.

Each of his homes is different, as the French-Egyptian designer always works with local craftsmen to decorate. He says that there is always a new contemporary design inspiration for him each time he designs home and that he doesn’t only follow the country’s costumes in which the luxury home is being built. He takes inspiration from various parts of the world.
