We’re still wrapping our heads about how to use Greenery – the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year – in every way imaginable, and we have now already further inspiration to consider for the year ahead. Behold: The 2018 color trends are here.
At the International Home + Housewares Show, Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman shared what color and design trends we can foresee for next year, and there appears to be something for just about everybody.
Pantone’s Director declared that “Metallics we know are classic, but they have really moved over into neutrals”. Another standout color trend will incorporate a movement to intense colors rather than pastels — music to the ears for bright color lovers. “Intense colors seem to be a natural application of our intense lifestyles and thought processes these days,” she said.
Even in fashion and design this year we can already regard the inclination for sparkling and bright colors so it’s no surprise that next year these pallets will transform into even more cheerful shades.
