Karl Lagerfeld debuted his 2016 Chanel Resort Collection on Monday at the Dongdaemun Deisgn Plaza in Seoul. Setting his own limelight, far away from the Met Ball occurring on the same date, the German designer filled Zaha Hadid’s 24-hour shopping sanctuary with incredibly bright colours.
The unique show space, in and around the runway, felt like a Candyland meets Twister, with an incredible fun and child-like substance leaving those who attended quite unsure on what to expect. Colourful circles led models down the runway, spectated by an audience seated on candy-coloured stools, both of which were perfectly framed for the young and highly vibrant collection.
Models sported accessories that brewed childhood nostalgia, such as colourful necklaces and “mini-mouse” like hair adornments.
Lagerfeld attracted a strong team of celebs and personalities, from his godson, Hudson Kroenig, son of model Brad Kroenig, to Kirsten Stewart and Giselle Bundchen.
