Burberry is the latest of luxury brands to open their own café, in their home capital of London. The extension to complimentary business’ such as restaurants, cafés or apartments, has strengthened the image of other high end fashion brands. such as Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Armani, meaning that a Burberry café will be almost guaranteed success for the British luxury house.
Curiously, the café is entitled “Thomas”, in honour of the brand’s founder, and is located in the corner of their Regent Street flagship store. Offering an all-day menu, and several other dish and drink options (such as Afternoon tea, with or without champagne), the Thomas café sources ingredients sourced from UK producers, farmers and artisans.
“We wanted to create a space where our customers can spend time relaxing and enjoying the world of Burberry in a more social environment. By blending our new café, Thomas’s, with a gifting area, we are trying something new that we hope customers in our home town of London will enjoy.” – Christopher Bailey, CEO
Moreover, a new double floored gifting area was introduced at 121 Regent Street, which features the punctual home-furnishing item and accessories, as well as games, stationaries and travel essentials (including Burberry’s line of tote bags and canvas pouches with a London map pattern, exclusive to the flagship store). Another one of the gifting area’s highlights is it’s monogram service, where customers can have flat leather designs monogram within the hour, perfect to continue their store browsing, or visit to the new café.
