Looking back at our design journey so far, Boca do Lobo Blog<\/strong><\/em><\/a> has opened its doors to our past and what makes us unique, by sharing with our audiences our know-how<\/strong> and the craftsmanship techniques<\/strong> that are embedded in our furniture designs<\/strong><\/a>. Wood carving<\/a>, filigree<\/a>, marquetry<\/a>, leaf gilding<\/a>, hand-painted tiles<\/a><\/strong> and now, metalwork<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Nowadays the\u00a0metalwork<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/em>process can be truly artful to conceive a wide\u00a0range of large-scale structures, assemblies, to the most\u00a0unique designs<\/a><\/strong>. It requires discipline, vision, and strength. Since early,\u00a0Boca do Lobo<\/strong> has not restrained to use different processes and tools to shape its furniture designs<\/strong><\/a>, by giving our pieces rough yet powerful expressions.<\/p>\n

One of the processes we appreciated the most is the art of metalwork<\/strong><\/em>, where the metal is heated until molten into a chosen shape and size. The process starts by melting metal into a liquid, pouring it in a mould with a cavity of the desired shape, removing the material, or casting after the final work gets cool and then solidified. The solidified part can be ejected or even broken out of the mould.\u00a0M<\/strong>etalwork<\/strong><\/em> is one of the most used techniques for making intricate\u00a0forms that would be difficult to have from other methods, including\u00a0sand casting.<\/strong><\/p>\n
