Clements Design<\/span><\/em><\/strong> is a team of interior designers<\/a><\/strong> and one of the most renowned in Los Angeles<\/a><\/strong>. Kathleen Clements<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 the mother<\/em> \u2013 and Tommy Clements<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 the son<\/em> \u2013 have built their powerhouse interior design firm<\/a><\/strong> by designing multi-layered<\/a><\/strong>, finely curated<\/a><\/strong>, and eminently livable homes<\/a><\/strong> for a star-studded customer list, where you can find names like Jennifer Aniston<\/strong>, Ellen DeGeneres<\/strong> and Portia de Rossi<\/strong>, Bruno Mars<\/strong>, and many others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What began as Kathleen<\/em><\/strong>\u2018s retail antique and custom furniture store<\/a><\/strong> in New Orleans<\/a><\/strong>, has evolved into the full-service design firm it is today. Tommy<\/em><\/strong>, who has been a partner, joined Clements Design<\/em><\/strong>, having previously managed sales and marketing at Architectural Digest. Clements Design<\/em><\/strong> is known for its gallery-like, nature-inspired<\/strong><\/a> interiors<\/a><\/strong> filled with carefully selected rustic<\/a> antiques<\/a><\/strong> so spare in their lines that they almost resemble sculptures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clients say the dynamic is the best of both generations. Kathleen<\/em><\/strong>\u2018s practices are old-school as well as Tommy<\/strong>\u2018<\/em>s taste \u2013 yet he offers a fresher, youthful perspective<\/a><\/strong> that Kathleen<\/em><\/strong>\u2018s stylistic expertise can deliver. And as close as mother and son are, Tommy<\/em><\/strong> says they have very different approaches to design<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clements Design<\/em><\/strong> stunned with projects as diverse as a mid-century modern design<\/a><\/strong> or a renovation of a 1930s Georgian house. Tommy<\/em><\/strong> admits that he can really get obsessed with the little things and all the little design details<\/a><\/strong>, while his mother has a much more macro perspective, she always considers the big picture and believes there still has to be something unexplainable, even magical<\/a><\/strong>, to give a home<\/a><\/strong> its character and soul<\/a><\/strong>. A mother-and-son duo that does not always think alike, however, their minds truly combine!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom the moment Tommy and I began working together, we have always collaborated. We have a very similar sense of style, but each of us expresses our style in a unique way (\u2026). Tommy Clements <\/em><\/strong>recalls how, as a child, his mother was always renovating or furnishing new houses<\/a><\/strong> for the family as they moved every few years. He also remembers being very aware that each house<\/a><\/strong> had a very unique feel<\/a><\/strong> when it was done and he always tried to understand why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
