Situated at the foot of Mount Alvaah, the Al Faya Lodge boutique modern hotel is one of the most supreme contemporary architecture projects by the design practice based in Dubai Anarchitect: a unique, sophisticated and luxury spa in the heart of the Sharjah Desert, an authentic oasis.
Embracing its heritage, the three single-story stone buildings have been transformed, including the addition of a one-of-a-kind hands-free spa. Designed by Anarchitect, the Al Faya Lodge boutique hotel provides an honored view of the sandy desert from its saltwater majestic pool.
About this modern architecture and design project, according to Jonathan Ashmore, founder of Anarchitect: «The desert presents an extreme climate that varies from unbearable heat with intense and prolonged sun exposure, to heavy rain, up to sand storms and low night temperatures. In these places, it is important to consider the shape and volume of the building, in addition to the choice of materials. The stone or concrete construction provides a heavy thermal mass to deal with these extremes and the associated temperature fluctuations. Coating materials such as Corten steel, different woods (hard) and aluminum have been explored to add refinement and precision to the design and used for sail roofs, shading elements and even high deck terraces above the level of sands.”
This contemporary design project, conceived by Anarchitect, features just five rooms that combine aspects of its original formation, blended together with luxury details and modernity. Comprising a modern dining room, reception room, library and viewing deck, every aspect of this unique design looks to emphasize its surroundings.
Defined as a wonderful oasis in the middle of the desert, the contemporary boutique hotel is a pioneer project by Anarchitect in this region.
