This artful apartment design from architect Deborah Berke is a true one-of-a-kind public gallery and private home for prestigious gallerist Marianne Boesky. The interior design and the architectural project was to bring together a significant contemporary art collection with a hint on a traditional interior, one more typical of Park Avenue than Chelsea.

The multi-use structure contains 3,340 square feet of family and professional space, all meticulously crafted to house an excellent contemporary art collection. The owner of the apartment went for Deborah Berke Partners office to new redesign and the results are as surprising as they are charming.
The apartment lies above newly-built and active commercial space and intentionally remains distinct from it in personality and tone. All the rooms, as well as the exterior spaces, were conceived as locations for ever-changing art installations.
The new interior design offers a twist on the typical loft design highlighting a strongly the Park Ave vibe with its herringbone floors, plush accouterments, and luxe fireplace and finishes.
In the main living room, the team opted for a grasscloth wallcovering to help camouflage holes from Boesky’s art rotations. For the dining room and lounge design, they went more formal with a high gloss blue finish and rich wood paneling respectively.
In the home design and art engage in a well balanced conversation, with a Yoshitomo Nara portrait next to a Francesco Binfaré sofa, and a butterflied Damien Hirst alongside a Kevin Walz daybed. Other pieces, like the magenta Yves Klein table, add a flawless distinction between design and art. The final result is a standing interior design project, the perfect canvas for the pieces displayed.
