Located in a modern building in São Paulo, this contemporary apartment belongs to a lawyer who went to the Studio Guilherme Torres team with a clear brief: he wanted the same atmosphere as in the installation “Hotel Black. This installation was created by the Brazilian architect for the MostraBlack, an annual event dedicated to the creativity of the best professionals in architecture, design, and decoration in Brazil.
Guilherme Torres is a perfectionist. The crisp form, minimalist details, and rich-but-reserved material palettes that characterize his designs are consistently applied across interior design project, and this one is no exception.
Thanks to the double height ceiling, it was possible to organize the space in two levels connected by a staircase that leads to the mezzanine and that helps to create coherence between all the areas, besides giving a feeling of greater amplitude.
The refined aesthetics was achieved thanks to the use of materials at the same time sober and sophisticated throughout the department. The wood adorns the interior walls, which allows to hide the doors and provide warmth. On the other hand, the cement coating on the floor and ceiling provides a minimalist look.
In the bedroom, the desk-bed resembles the type of modern furniture that can be found in a luxury hotel, what the owner wanted. Finally, Gabriel Wickbold’s photographs and eclectic objects give personality to space.
