The interior design studio based in Amsterdam, Cocoon Living converted a large three-story house into a contemporary home for a family who is passionate about travel. Many of the old buildings surrounding the canals have been renovated in recently.

Inside you are welcomed by an eclectic mix of modern furniture and home decor against an immaculate white background. Open spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows give the feeling of a bright home. The home’s living room breathes elegance and is dotted with seating for the residents to lounge comfortable.
“The exotic and human touch comes from the decorative elements, which provide an opportunity to reflect the family’s passion for travel,” the designers said.
Beyond the excellent exterior surroundings, marked by the presence of Amsterdam’s iconic canals, the interior area is a sophisticated open space filled with light thanks to large windows and a firm commitment to the color white. This unity of color is only broken up by the dark wood floor and some notes of color in the design furniture. That adds a surprise effect to the interior design project.
“In this home, you will find Versailles Baroque-style chandeliers alongside seashells in the bathrooms for a beach-like feel. Or a mirror, whose spokes recall the sun that warms the African savannah, mixed with a reproduction of a scarlet ibis, a bird indigenous to South America, that is the undisputed star of the living room thanks to its bright orange color.”
