Recognized as an award-winning Chicago company, Simeone Deary Design Group hotel interior design projects are focused on foundational knowledge local business environment and deep respect for each project city’s history and architecture: one of the most incredible contemporary projects is the Detroit Foundation Hotel’s interior design.
Built in 1929, the five-story neoclassical building bragged serious architectural gravitas and received a lot of attention. Chicago-based Simeone Deary Design Group was hired to create and to design the Detroit Foundation Hotel. The overall hotel interior design concept was inspired by “coming home to Detroit.”
Simeone Deary Design Group’s vision and perception for the Detroit Foundation Hotel was to honor Detroit’s past and to celebrate the city’s promising future. The conceptual contemporary design was inspired in the commitment to “Repurpose History” by taking historically relevant moments and materials from the Fire Department Headquarters, as well as from Detroit, and create a modern design.
“As we conceptualized the design, we wanted to reflect the very collaborative nature of Detroit in part by creating a space that’s open and integrated. The first floor is a lobby, a bar, a kitchen and a restaurant that all flow together. It has almost a kind of living-room feel.”
