A translucent spherical auditorium was the starting point for the impressive architectural design of Tianjin Binhai library in China. The project signed by the Danish architecture office MVRDV has a capacity of 1.2 million books and calls not only for 33,200 m² but also for organic lines, pure white and the unique format.
The five floors of the building offer a wide range of facilities. On the ground floor, to complement the auditorium, are the reading areas. In the first and second floor, you can find the study and living rooms. And in the third and fourth offices, meeting rooms, computers and audio rooms. Finally, in the subsoil are the technical areas, such as rooms to store more books, as well as other files that are not open to the public.
