The two Michaels are Jayne and Joan, sisters and creative partners who founded their eponymous firm in 2001. Though they are comfortable working in a range of styles, the pair always brings a sense of sophistication and modernism, whether that means a careful editing of traditional elements or a warm take on modern. Their interiors often feature contemporary art, as well as pieces influenced by the sisters’ shared expertise for European 20th century design.

With 4 stories and 3 units, this beautiful townhouse was built in the 1920’s with and an expansive rooftop terrace that completes the duplex allowing for entertaining and family BBQ’s.
The apartment serves as a pied a Terre for an entrepreneur who in his hectic travel schedule dreamt about finding a real “home”. 2Michaels created a relaxed and warm environment incorporating 1940’s French furniture, an Edward Womely console, an onyx Harvey Probber side table and a rare arching floor lamp from the 1950’s.
The color scheme was based on nature; Stone, earthenware, greenery, organic textures and hand woven carpets. Art works by Sam Samore, Angela Testa, Betsy Eby and Andrea Shapiro.
Clients say that the two sisters are extremely knowledgeable, artistic, low-pressure, charming and fun to work with.
