Each interior from the Chinese design firm X + Living is waiting for you as a pleasant surprise, which will definitely be unusual, ironic and completely different from anything else. The studio’s newest hotel interior design project could only be expected to be absolutely marvelous and that is exactly what happened!

These guys do not follow either fashion or any conventional logic of design on any of their interior design projects, but methodically fill noisy Chinese metropolitan areas with amazing quiet spaces, more like huge aesthetic playgrounds for adults.

More recently, a new, perhaps the largest project completely invented by the studio, the Park Zoo Hotel, has opened in Hangzhou. And, as the name suggests, animal sculptures and inconceivable installations with them have become the main “acting heroes” of unusual decor. This hotel interior design is so wild but so much fun.

In a very high white lobby, visitors are greeted by the scarlet figure of a hippopotamus playing the role of a sofa, certainly a very exclusive furniture piece. Nearby is a white walrus, from which a thin ladder goes up somewhere in the mysterious black cube. If you raise your head, there, in a strange volume of a cube, that hangs like a frame of a boat. This hotel interior design is filled with the strangest interior design ideas.

A little further, in the lobby near cozy plush sofas, there’s a strange figure of an elephant, growing into some kind of architectural form.

In this hotel interior design, among the white walls, evoking associations with the Museum of Modern Art, here and there some strange installations arise of plastic pills, dog tails and blowing plastic pistols. The creators deliberately refuse to give this modern art names and explanations, leaving the interpretation to the discretion of the guests.

On the floors, figures of animals hold pointers with room numbers, a flirty flamingo turns into a floor lamp.

The rooms’ interior design is quite reserved, without animals and birds jumping out from behind the curtains, however, they are also exceptionally photogenic. Elegant striped headboards, velvet asymmetrical sofas, and bedside tables and lamps shining with brass are great elements for the Instagram and Snapchat era. In this hotel interior design, an atmosphere of light elegant madness reigns.
