On the one hand, the spaces had to be both comfortable and elegant. On the other, they had to express a sense of joy and fun, since the goal was to create a house to live in to enjoy it with family and friends. Inspired in part by the famous Case Study Houses, mid-century style, the house offers spectacular views. The pavilion built on the gardens pays tribute to the Californian architecture that manages to find new ways to take advantage of the climate and the landscape.

Originally, Grant Kirkpatrick had designed an orthogonal project, focused on geometry, with very well defined lines and corners, but the architect quickly realized that there were no curves and decided to introduce them in some walls and through the sculptural staircase. The lower level of the house is a unique playground for both adults and children. Inside there is a family room, a screening room with a small stage for shows, a wine tasting room, a golf simulation room, a gym and a spa with access to an outdoor pool, a trampoline and a dining room and outdoor kitchen. The owners were very involved with the design team, ensuring a very personalized result. Antonia Hutt took care of the interior design and designed several custom design and contemporary furniture.
