Taiwanese interior design studio Ganna Design designed this eclectic and modern apartment in central Taipei. The owners, a family of four, rich environment to live in but with a minimalist aesthetic. This project has brought many design awards to the interior design duo.
The design concept for the renovation of this apartment was to combine the rough with the contemporary side. The designers conserve the original cement ceiling and from which was the starting point for the whole project.
The apartment has been designed as an open-plan living space around which the private areas are arranged around. The large windows on two sides bring a natural illumination and breathtaking views of the city. The common areas, the living room, the kitchen and a dining space create an important central point in the house.
Due to the predominance of cement, the interior designers used the sober colors pallet, for decoration, and furniture. To break with the roughness of the cement they add some playful vibe through the modern furniture selection.
The six sofa-mattresses placed on the floor are the central concept for the living room decor as they can be moved around or arranged it by change position according to their daily activities just like Lego bricks. Behind the kitchen island is a customized trellis glass case in which displayed the boy’s Lego collection.
