Known for his expertise in both historic decorative arts and contemporary collectible design. It is no coincidence that most of Oliver‘s clients are collectors and some are in creative fields themselves, making each project a unique experience handled with an individual, often collaborative approach.
DREAM HOME IN MALIBU
Welcome to this five-level sensation, in Malibu, that offers stunning views to the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains.
Oliver did 90 percent of the decorating in 90 days, which meant he relied on a lot of vintage pieces and modern furniture they could get quickly. And even then, he managed to get the right things and put them in the right places.
The living room was dressed up with furniture in earth tones that contrast with the white walls, making the living room look masculine yet airy. A surfboard designed by Kelly Wearstler can be seen in the background, underlining the young and free style of the house.
“Michael is into storytelling, and here was an opportunity to tell his story. He’s very straightforward.”

Imagine waking up every day with the pacific ocean just outside your window. For sure, all of your concerns would go away quickly, right? Again, the earth tones reign and the clean lines make everything look like a ship.
And speaking of the ocean, the bathroom almost takes us there with a creative and stimulating mix of lighting and blue painting. That looks like a contemporary art installation, don’t you think?
Not a house to impress, but a home to live in. Oliver M Furth acknowledges that with confidence, adding that this residence was not supposed to be like ordinary beach-houses in white and blue tones.
The owner, an agent for the Creative Artists Agency who represents many comedians, such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Mindy Kaling, is very fond of the outdoors and has two teenage sons. It is a modern and contemporary house designed by the architect Stephen Kent and it has a beautiful roof terrace. And the views… Oh well, we already mentioned that, right?
MODERNIST LANDMARK IN L.A.
This incredible house was built in 1948 by architects A. Quincy Jones and Whitney R. Smith and now belongs to a painter and art collector from Los Angeles, Mary Weatherford.
The biggest challenge was to use 21st-century design without compromising the architect’s masterpiece. Needless to say that Oliver M Furth nailed it!
“She invested huge amounts of time and energy in the service of being a faithful steward of this property. As much as she wanted to honor its past, she wanted to secure its future (…).”

Oliver M Furth‘s signature approach – an astonishing combination of free-form creativity and scholarly historicism – has been applied to a dizzying array of homes for Hollywood heavyweights such as media magnate Arianna Huffington, co-founder of United Talent Agency, Jim Berkus, and actor Albert Brooks and his wife Kimberly.
