This interior design project was a renovating from an old hotel two, courtyard-separated buildings that already existed on the rue Buffault in Paris. The inspiration for this space was to reinterpret the space around and bring the notion of a family home by developing two parallel concepts: the townhouse and the country house.
Give clients the feeling of being invited to a friend’s house, to be in a place with its own history. “I wanted a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. A peaceful place where I could settle down with my wife and daughters ” said Gloaguen.
There’s a distinct difference between the design of the interiors. For the townhouse, the interior designer went for a monochromatic and contemporary design approach with pastel hues, nude pink, light blue, sage green, while the country house the rooms have more rustic details like floral wallpaper.
In the reception, you will find the original counter an homage to the previous incarnation. A burgundy velvet sofa, vintage light fixtures, and faux-marble painted by Pauline Leyravaud. “Like in an old house, the pieces come together in joyful visual coherence – a space that is alive and warm,” commented the team.
The velvet-trimmed, tone-on-tone headboards are the focal point in each bedroom decor, mixed with modern furniture in the same color pallet and wall-hung sconces designed by the designer itself.
