Champsaur has created a name as an interior designer especially for art collectors’ houses, and his work for Hôtel Vernet reflects that experience as contemporary art and design stage.
A carefully curated selection of artworks, furniture, textures, and materials are combined with a contemporary interior design project. The contrast between two different eras creates a dynamic and light-hearted energy. This subtle chemistry rejuvenates the atmosphere without unnecessary ostentation.
François Champsaur, a passionate contemporary art collector and eager to showcase French artistry and craftsmanship throughout, commissioned French visual artist Jean-Michel Alberola to paint a fresco on the bar’s ceiling; interestingly, the same artist has designed the bar’s carpet, where the art above seems to ‘reflect’ the design below.
In the Hotel’s restaurant, Champsaur’s vision for bringing together art and design, with where a selection of luxury dining furniture and contemporary art sits beneath a monumental stained glass dome designed by Gustave Eiffel.
At night, light plays with the hotel’s decorative elements creating a beautiful candle-lit atmosphere.
Creating the start of a collector’s home and reinforcing the private and intimate side of the entire hotel. The master suite design engages in a dialogue with the spirit of the space and its history.
