The door number 229 of Emilio Castelar in Polanco, Mexico City, shelters an eclectic space with the exact dose of simplicity but colorful freshness in this modern design. This is the Villa Azur restaurant, a meeting point between the colorful and the neutral, the luxurious and the informal, the complex and the simple, and the warm and the cold. A balance of contrasts as only the interior designer Sofía Aspe manages to achieve.

When the elevator opens on the first floor, form the reception emerges a large room. A latticework with modernist touches in blue leather with a very modern design, Carrara marble, and brass give privacy to the rest of the restaurant design and separates it from the entrance. Behind this lattice are intimate rooms for a cocktail under a ceiling covered with greenery and, in the background, an elegant bar with mirror tiles and Sputnik lamps hanging above it.

Upon entering, the huge chandelier made of glass and a wall of mirror rhombuses with blue curtains shows that the space that is to be discovered has an odd character to its modern design.

In the space highlights the great craftsmanship, from the walls of the corridor, the arches, and the wooden latticework, to most of the modern furniture designed by Sofia Aspe Interiorismo. This place is about to open pretty soon and you can tell already that the luxury restaurant Villa Azur will be a great place to enjoy some Mediterranean lunches or summer dinners. The food is promised to be very good but the restaurant’s modern design isn’t any further from its uniqueness and enhances this entire fine dining experience.

The clients entrusted Sofia with a space with a language similar to her older project, the Villa Azur Miami luxury restaurant, but with its own personality and a very different modern design, as seen on the pictures bellows.
