\u201cExcuse My French\u201d: 2019 Inspiration Theme for Maison et Objet<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

For each session of Maison et Objet<\/strong><\/em>,<\/strong><\/em> NellyRodi analyses the latest consumer trends and sociological phenomena and encapsulates them in a theme. The topic chosen for January 2019 may have a humorous note to it: \u201cExcuse My French!\u201d but, it looks very seriously at a re-emergence of the country of Moli\u00e8re on the international scene. For him, the movement is linked to globalization: \u201cIn a world where things are becoming standardized, people are looking for something different\u201d. And where better to celebrate that than at M&O, the Parisian trade show par excellence? Foreign visitors will be given the opportunity to discover new French brands and designers, while others will better understand how to take full advantage of the Made in France phenomenon.<\/p>\n

The country has long been a reference worldwide for the arts, fashion, design and lifestyle. For many, it is quite simply the epitome of elegance. Think Catherine Deneuve or the Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles! Clich\u00e9s aside, Gr\u00e9goire pinpoints a number of factors responsible for the country\u2019s newfound resurgence. Leading the way are a whole host of smaller companies \u2013 Petites Maisons, who reinterpret traditional savoir-faire with product lines characterized by a spirit of invention and exclusivity. A \u201cnouvelle vague\u201d of creatives open to multicultural influences have also emerged. They shake up traditional French chic by injecting inspirations from elsewhere in a new mood of fusion and mix \u2018n\u2019 match.<\/p>\n

All of these threads will be brought together in January at the Trend Forum, a 250 sq. m space in Hall 7 that will present a selection of products embodying the essence of the new French scene. Its theatrical d\u00e9cor will be inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, but with a little impertinence \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise mixed in. A small truck where you will be able to find the trend mook for sale will be parked in the middle of it and a number of contemporary items will deliberately contrast with the classical setting.<\/p>\n

\nMaison et Objet Presents\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Sebastian Herkner:\u00a0<\/em>Designer of The Year<\/em>\n<\/h4>\n

At 37, German designer Sebastian Herkner, who trained at Offenbach University of Art and Design, is embarking on an ever-growing number of collaborations with international design houses and over the course of the past decade has received some thirty awards in recognition of his innovative yet traditional work.<\/p>\n

Maison et Objet<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0has always sought to honor interior designers<\/strong> whose originality and excellence impact their generation, and Herkner\u2019s astonishing career path propelled him straight onto the trade fair\u2019s radar, sealing the decision to turn the 2019 spotlight on the design scene\u2019s rising star.<\/p>\n
