The 58th edition of Salone del Mobile<\/strong><\/a> came up with an amazing and modern concept. During 6th to 14th April, Milan<\/strong> will be the city that will host this design exhibition<\/strong> and art fair<\/strong>. While you are visiting the Milan Design Week<\/strong>, prepare to visit The Manzoni<\/strong>,<\/a> one of the new 100-cover restaurants that have been created by Tom Dixon<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Design Research Studio. Revealing both a modern restaurant<\/strong> and a showroom, The Manzoni<\/strong><\/a> will pre-opening at the beginning of April to coincide with Milan Design Week<\/strong>, it will re-open after Salone del Mobile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tom Dixon<\/em><\/strong> returns to Milan<\/strong> after a year\u2019s nonappearance and reconsidering how we can surround ourselves into the heart of Italy\u2019s commercial, design, and cultural capital: he is opening a restaurant\/showroom in Milan<\/strong>, making it the luxury brand<\/strong>\u2019s first mainland European home.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The main reason behind the opening of this new luxury restaurant<\/strong> was due to the fact that Tom Dixon<\/em><\/strong> and his furniture brand<\/strong> wanted to have a more permanent presence in Milan<\/strong>. According to his words: \u201cAfter years of doing 5-day exhibition in Milan<\/strong>, we finally decided that we had enough of putting such huge energy into pop-up interventions. We wanted to look at different ways of being present in Milan<\/strong>. With the city being so active and engaging right now, it is the right time to forget being temporary and build something permanent. Just like in London, we don\u2019t think it\u2019s enough to just have a showroom. We need a place where people slow down and experience our products in a live setting. There is nothing dustier than conventional lighting and furniture showroom. But with The Manzoni<\/strong>, people are able to experience our new collections in an active context.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the opening of this new remarkable space with a contemporary design<\/strong>, Tom Dixon<\/em><\/strong> will be showing off three specific new modern furniture<\/strong> collections: Fat, Spring, <\/strong>and Opal<\/strong>FAT<\/strong> will be available as a dining chair, a high stool and lounge chair with a unique design<\/strong>. The collection\u2019s pieces were manufactured in Europe, made from molded foam with a metal leg launching in high gloss black lacquer made to order upholstery. The chair specifically is designed to allow for multiple sitting positions.<\/p>\n

SPRING<\/strong> is a collection of three pendant lamps made up of stainless-steel strips. A special feature of these three lamps is the fact that they had pliant ribbons of stainless steel arranged like a whisk around the brand\u2019s LED, and can be easily adjusted to a variety of silhouettes.<\/p>\n

Lastly, OPAL<\/strong> will consist of two pendant lights, two-floor lights, and a surface light, all of them made with lighting translucent globes made of tinted white Opalescent polycarbonate. These lamps have a ghostly sense to them both in the daytime and nighttime and will look stunning in any interior design project<\/strong>, especially inside The Manzioni<\/strong>, in Milan<\/strong>.
