Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is so much more than\u00a0Salone del Mobile<\/strong>.\u00a0Fuorisalone<\/strong><\/em>, roughly translated to \u201coutside of Salone\u201d counts with multiple\u00a0design events<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0art exhibitions<\/strong>\u00a0all around the city! Milan\u2019s most important city started just a couple of days ago and from the days 9-14 April, people wander from\u00a0design district<\/strong> to district in order to explore what the best design from all around the world has to offer.<\/p>\n

Brera Design District<\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gaetano Pesce<\/strong>\u2018s work, which literally translates as \u2018suffering majesty\u2019 is situated in prime position in front of the city\u2019s famous cathedral during 2019\u2019s\u00a0Fuorisalone<\/strong><\/em>. Moooi<\/strong>\u00a0brought a sense-tickling brand experience during this year\u2019s\u00a0Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em>. Hosted at a new location in Milan\u2019s design district Brera. \u201cHome Sweet Home\u201d installation curated by Angela Missoni for Missoni<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Melissa<\/strong>\u00a0presents an artistic installation in partnership with\u00a0Campana Brothers<\/strong>. The artwork was created with the help of many Brazilian artisan collectives, using a crocheted texture woven with plastic wires from Melissa\u2019s production. Materi Attiva is a special multi-sensorial and immersive cave, an installation that recalls a new relationship between human and nature. At this year\u2019s Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0Bang & Olufsen<\/strong> have partnered with a renowned designer, Germans Ermi\u010ds\u00a0to create a truly unique speaker concept entitled the Circle of Fifths.<\/p>\n

Tortona Design District\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alex Chinneck<\/strong>\u2018s sculpture at Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em> in partnership with IQOS. The seventeen-meter wide sculpture unzips a Milanese facade, one of the three sculptures around Fuorisalone<\/strong><\/em>. The artist himself says that this is the most ambitious work that he has ever made.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Leading with Light at the Superstudio Pi\u00f9<\/strong> is an immersive experience using lighting technology to showcase a vision for a more human-centered tomorrow, realized with the Japanese design studio,\u00a0Rhizomatiks<\/strong>. ASIA DESIGN MILANO<\/strong>\u00a0returned as the exhibition and communication project, reference platform of the Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em> for the Asian creative scene.<\/p>\n

\u201c5 Vie\u201d District<\/h4>\n

It happened on the 10th of April during Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em> but it was simply magic, as Seletti<\/strong> described it! Seletti<\/strong>\u00a0Design Pride<\/strong>\u00a0is the most democratic party of Fuorisalone<\/strong><\/em>. An\u00a0art exhibition<\/strong>\u00a0during\u00a0Milan Design Week\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>that explores through art, science, and technology.<\/p>\n

Ventura Centrale District<\/h4>\n
Inside a vaulted warehouse at Via Ferrante Aporti 135, selected works of celebrated Brazilian masters like Geraldo de Barros, Lina Bo Bardi, and Sergio Bernardes, along with contemporary designers<\/strong> Claudia Moreira Salles and Fernando Prado. This art exhibition<\/strong> puts you in the darkest depths of the arches ready to take you away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city, into an immersive installation bathed in light that will wrap you in the sounds of the Earth\u2019s rotation, as recorded by Nasa.<\/div>\n

Porta Venezia<\/h4>\n

Voliumani by Barbara Vistarini <\/strong>\u2013 Dozens and dozens of small hands, like butterfly wings, will rest placid on the entrance walls of the building, waiting to take off. Butterfly lamp was\u00a0shown at Doppia Firma 2019<\/strong>, one of the greatest events during Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em>, where great artisans and artists collaborate and create complete masterpieces. Shape of Gravity the Fuorisalone<\/strong><\/em> installation by Nendo x WonderGlass that went live during Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em> 2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Isola Design District<\/h4>\n

April Key<\/strong> presents her first lighting collection Ocean Drive, a fusion between Art Deco architecture, lighting and sculptures. Snake, the super-jointed, resistant, colored seat that can be adapted to any type of environment by Campidarte, is a design and innovative project that is unique of its kind.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new DL Collection is their first fashion\/furniture collab. Three years in the making, the project began as a casual conversation during a trip to Milan. Now launched at\u00a0Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/em>\u00a02019 at their solo show in the Isola Design District celebrating 12 years of producing\u00a0Australian Design<\/strong>. BODEM is the theme of BRUT_ collective exhibition inspired by the dusty charm of an archaeological site.<\/p>\n
