Messila Villa, Kuwait, by Walid Sfeir<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Built to show off a treasured art collection<\/strong>, this Kuwait residential project <\/strong>is truly worthy of the AD Design Award.<\/strong> It uses rich decoration<\/a><\/strong> in marble, brass, and textiles as a dramatic foil for sculptures and paintings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cArt<\/strong> plays a primary role here, with paintings and sculptures by renowned contemporary artists<\/a><\/strong> dotted throughout the rooms,\u201d Sfeir<\/strong> explains. \u201cOn the outside, the villa is built in an oriental style, but the owners wanted the interior<\/strong> to be more contemporary.<\/strong>\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n \"Metamorphosis<\/a>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0renowned\u00a0Swiss-Spanish architect<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>masterfully united these elements and created a true architectural masterpiece. The\u00a0emirates\u00a0pavilion<\/a>\u00a0design<\/strong>\u00a0is an\u00a0iconic building<\/strong> <\/a>and an expected winner of the AD Design Award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doha\u2019s<\/strong> recent meteoric growth has resulted in a dramatic expansion of its urban footprint fuelled by the automobile. This deeply progressive project<\/strong> aims to change this direction of travel. It creates a dense, walkable neighborhood knit together by naturally cooled streets built at a human scale. Set in the heart of the city, there are more than 100 contemporary buildings<\/a><\/strong>, each distinct yet all expressing a shared architectural language<\/strong> rooted in the local culture and climate.<\/strong> This ambitious project<\/strong> justified its AD Design Award <\/strong>perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bathed in local rituals and traditions, Habitas AlUla<\/strong> is an oasis of calm and tranquillity<\/strong> in the rugged desert and worthy winner of the Hospitality design <\/strong> <\/a>AD Design Award<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Flying Saucer, UAE, by SpaceContinuum Design Studio for Sharjah Arts Foundation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

United Arab Emirates\u2019s<\/strong> third-largest state Sharjah<\/strong> is far from its gilded neighbors in its landscape. Here, modest scale colorful buildings<\/a><\/strong> and walkable streets lead to a tranquil seaside stretched across the Persian Gulf. And it is in this amazing location that the cultural project AD Design Award<\/strong> was given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
