A survey conducted by Travelodge revealed that certain shades can stimulate or relax sleepers, and their effects last beyond nighttime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bocadolobo.com\/en\/master-bedroom-collection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bocadolobo.com\/images\/ext-campaign\/articles\/bl-master-bedroom-750.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"130\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">After polling 2,000 Brits on their evening habits, the hotel chain found some surprising (and slightly wacky) results. Check out their findings, and start planning your makeover accordingly.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"listicle--item-title\"><span class=\"listicle--item-hed\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Blue<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If your boudoir is aqua or azure, you probably catch a lot of shut eye \u2014 and you&#8217;re a cheerier person for it. People with blue bedrooms got more sleep than any other color, clocking in at seven hours and 52 minutes per night. It&#8217;s not just coincidence, either. Specialized receptors in our eyes \u2014 the same cells that inform our brain&#8217;s daily rhythms \u2014 are most sensitive to the color blue, according to Chris Idzikowski of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/covetlounge\/docs\/on-sofia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/moderndiningtables.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/banner-new-catalogue-covet-lounge.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Blue is also associated with calmness (just think of the ocean or sky) and it can lower your heart rate and reduce blood pressure. Unsurprisingly, more than half of the people with blue bedrooms said they regularly wake up feeling happy.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"listicle--item-title\"><span class=\"listicle--item-hed\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Yellow<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Surprisingly, the second-best color for sleep is yellow. The sunny hue stimulates the nervous system, encouraging relaxation. Plus, the cheery shade creates instant coziness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bocadolobo.com\/en\/limited-edition\/coffee-and-side-tables\/empire-center-table\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29471 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/bocadolobo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/12-Key-Decorating-Tips-to-Make-Any-Room-Better-3.jpg\" alt=\"12-key-decorating-tips-to-make-any-room-better-3\" width=\"620\" height=\"759\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"listicle--item-title\"><span class=\"listicle--item-hed\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Green<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An earthy green isn&#8217;t a shabby pick, either. It was the third best color palette for sleep, and 22 percent of respondents who slept in a green bedroom reported waking up feeling upbeat and positive.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"listicle--item-title\"><span class=\"listicle--item-hed\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Silver<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">People with silver bedrooms like the luxurious yet soothing metallic tones, but they can have an unexpected side effect.
