The artist duo has crafted a colorful paper universe for the window display of the luxury fashion brand, Hermès store in Dubai at the mall of the emirates.
“Forest folk”’ is a collection of curious characters that live in a woodland wonderland. Two vitrines host vibrant color, carefully cut, crimped, folded paper sheets in various styles and shades.
Recreating a lush landscape, botanical life and motifs found in nature, Zim & Zou create a curious world of creatures, caves and hidden homes for the Hermès luxury store display.
oversized mushrooms, floral and feathery architectural forms and layered leafy landscapes comprise this complex world of paper parts.
“Nature is surrounding us and never cease to evolve since its beggining. Its run defines the world we’re living in. Nature is linked to every living being, and every living being is linked to it. In this project, spectators have a sneak pick of the curious characters living in this environment.”
“This microscopic point of view, where plants and another vegetal reign as masters, is like a kind of picture, a flash, a precise instant in nature’s unrestrained run. Life is everywhere, flowers are growing and carry away its inhabitants in their impetus.
This mysterious person is evolving, building, and living right in the heart of the nature, revealing a fragment of their daily life.”
