Architecture photographer Marc Goodwin has captured the working environments of Nordic architecture offices including Henning Larsen, Snøhetta and Tham & Videgård Arkitekter.
Over the past year, photographer Marc Goodwin has visually documented the architectural offices of some of the world’s biggest firms. From London to Beijing, Goodwin has gone inside a range of studios, each with their own distinct aesthetic and working environment. the ongoing series offers a rare and private look at the workspaces of established architecture practices, including MAD Architects, Renzo Piano Building Workshop, and David Chipperfield Architects.
Goodwin, who runs the photography studio Archmospheres, captured a variety of working environments including one inside a converted flour mill, another in an 1930s department store and one inside a camera shop.
The seven employees of Jägnefält Milton work within an old stable surrounded by exposed brick and weathered wooden columns.
Swedish firm White Arkitekter’s offices – one of the only purpose-built spaces on the list – wrap around a central void.
The images form part of a series of photosets by Goodwin documenting the studios of architects. He previously visited the workplaces of London architects, and is planning his next series on Paris.

Goodwin, who runs photography studio archmospheres, began shooting the studios as a way to understand how they differentiate between each countries and continents. the spaces include a number of renovated structures, as well as purpose-built facilities. more than 100 MAD employees operate from inside a former printing works, while foster + partners’ riverside HQ was built by the firm in 1990, and forms the lower three storeys of a mixed-use development.

Marc Goodwin manages archmospheres with mathieu fiol — who shot the paris studios alongside goodwin — and cecilia galera. through an ‘attention to atmosphere’, the team works to restore a sense of place that they say is lacking in the majority of commercial photography. read on for a selection of archmospheres’ photography to date, as goodwin continues to document the working environments of architecture’s biggest names.
