Vincenzo De Cotiis Invites You Inside This Italy Residence

When Vincenzo De Cotiis was tasked with the design of this Italian private residence, one thing stood out from the demands list: privacy.

Due to the close proximity to their neighbours, the owners felt this was a key feature for the home design. The Italian designer built a concrete abode of flamboyance, perfection, and multi-material incredible details that will completely catch your attention.

When asked to name the biggest influences on his work, Vincenzo De Cotiis, the Milan-based architect, designer, and artist, demurred, saying, “I consider myself omnivorous. I feed on many different stimuli spanning art, architecture, and imagery.”

Vincenzo De Cotiis defines this interior design project as a “contemporary design bunker adapted to accommodate the cultural life of an educated couple“, De Cotiis takes this “bunker” and imbues it with warmth, texture, and human scale.

As soon as you walk into the luxury house, you encounter a spacious living room and at the end of it, there’s a swimming pool, perfect for that Italian heat. Many of the furniture design items, are made by Vincenzo De Cotiis himself, as you may have recognized by now looking at the centre tables and lamps. Beyond the lounge, a skylit dining area is furnished with a custom table and wood chairs, designed by De Cotiis, that are covered in Hermès velvet.
