THE MOST COVETED BOOKS IN THE INTERIOR DESIGN WORLD
CovetED Magazine brings you the IT books on interior design that deserve to be in your home shelf. The books we chose will help you think differently about design, and providing inspiration for your next design project.
Most decorating books focus on one designer; the rest focus on one period, one trend, one room. This book, for the first time, has the big picture: ALL the names everybody must know from the entire 100-year history of interior design. Each designer is profiled and illustrated with three to four photographs of their best work; what we can learn from them—and how they changed decorating forever—is clearly highlighted to catch the eye.
Through a Designer’s Eye A Focus on Interiors

RESTAURANTS WE COVET
The worlds finest luxury restaurants: In this issue, CovetED Magazine featured the cuisine of the world. We present you some of the best Michelin starred restaurants, where sea flavours meet fine dining.
OCEAN RESTAURANT, WHERE SEA FLAVOURS MEET GRANDIOUS FINE DINING
Ocean, Vila Vita Parc, Porches
With spectacular Atlantic views, Ocean offers the perfect combination of sublime food, seamless service and an atmosphere of casual elegance, and has held two Michelin stars since 2011 – a tribute to Hans Neuner and his team. The decor, based on a palette of blue and golden shades is the reflection of peaceful seaside scenery, and the magnificent corals which fill up one of its sidewalls, as well as the Murano crystals resembling medusas by the entrance, are a clear clue to the inspiration behind Ocean’s philosophy.
CovetED Magazine had the pleasure of visiting Ocean Restaurant for the second time to meet the new executive Menu by the Chef. Entitled “Discovering Portugal”, the executive Menu promises to bring a new definition to the Portuguese traditional flavours.
THE INSPIRATION THAT COMES FROM THE SEA
Gastronónimo Fortaleza do Guincho
The French-inspired cuisine and school, which had placed the Fortaleza do Guincho restaurant, on the world map of gastronomy gave way, surprisingly, to a young Portuguese chef, Gil Fernandes the youngest Portuguese chef in a Michelin star restaurant. CovetED Magazine had the pleasure of meeting the chef and to taste the contemporary served in this coveted restaurant in the Guincho road.
STYLE ICONS
WHEN HAUTE COUTURE MEETS INTERIOR DESIGN
We are most familiar with haute couture fashion; that glamorous and, oftentimes, rather extravagant parade of luxuriousness that graces the runways during Fashion Week. And as we know, fashion often dictates or mirrors trends in interior design. When haute couture meets interiors, we are given a glimpse into an exclusive, one-of-a-kind design that demonstrates the designers’ unique style and inventiveness.
Each year, many Fashion Weeks take place in the biggest cities in the world and dictate what are the top trends we should follow. But what happens when fashion trends influence the design world? CovetED Magazine brings you some of the major trends you can find in the interior design world fresh of the runway. Are you brave enough to bring these trends into your decor?
