Filigree Cricket Wall Sconces
In many parts of the world, crickets are thought to bring good luck, protection, and success. They have been considered great protection because they stop singing when anyone or anything approaches. Middle Eastern and European craftsman commonly carved amulets and charms bearing images of crickets to fend off evil spirits. Besides the pleasant song of crickets, their ability to jump high symbolizes great success thanks to open mind, creativity, and idealism.
As a tribute to the beloved cricket and its sacred symbology, Boca do Lobo perpetuates the craftsmanship tradition and creates a luxury handcrafted piece of art: a cricket figure entirely made of the most detailed silver filigree – an old Portuguese jewelry technique.
