Hotel Inspiration: Room Mate Hotel by Lázaro Rosa Violán
Room Mate Hotels has revealed its newest property, in Istanbul. The 47-key Room Mate Emir was designed by famed Spanish designer Lázaro Rosa Violán, who combined avant-garde furnishings with the building’s enduring traditional details.
From the candyfloss froth of the reception to the stimulating confines of the breakfast section and the dazzling splendor of the 47 suites, the latest Room Mate hotel is a light-flooded study in contemporary chic; modern but also passionate.
“Room Mate Hotels are located in the center of the most emblematic and cosmopolitan cities in the world and Istanbul is one of them,” says company founder and president Enrique Sarasola. “It is a place where exoticism and culture merge to offer a unique travel experience. We are completely in love with Istanbul. For this reason, we are very proud to increase our portfolio with Emir, our new elegant, modern and stylish new friend.”
Starring an interior design project by Lázaro Rosa Violán, Emir merges its traditional frame and structure with Avante-Garde furnishings. Violán attempted to maintain the building’s past through a unique blend of modern-day components and designer furniture and elements, all intensified with plenty of natural light.
Lázaro Rosa Violán whose complete renovation of this period property honors Istanbul’s metropolitan history by clutching painted ceilings, tile floors, and exposed brickwork but brings it heavily into today with a mix of mid-Century decorations, strategically-placed mirrors, lovingly-crafted doors and ultra-contemporary furnishings.
