BECK RESIDENCE | Fort Lauderdale, FL
A traditional ranch home in Fort Lauderdale is transformed into a luxurious retreat inspired by the traditional architecture of grand Parisian apartments.
The 4,000-square-foot home straddles the line between modern and traditional with elements like boiserie panelled walls and high ceilings that play off contemporary touches like blue haha granite inlays, rich wenge wood floors, custom carpeting and a custom imported Italian kitchen. A colour scheme of rich woods, greys and creamy whites creates a serene yet plush home for two that transports you with Florida panache to Left Bank.
THE FORGE | Miami Beach, FL
In 2010, FFD was tasked with completely renovating the legendary steakhouse. The result is bright and sophisticated, modern and extravagant – but still with a good dose of its former grandeur. Historic elements such as ornate stained glass wall panels, handcrafted French boiseries and columns with Corinthian capitals are complemented by a stunning vintage chandelier.
Polished walls of golden ash, low-hanging white leather sofas, deep basket-style chairs, hand-etched glass tables, and gold lamé wallpaper have taken the place of antique decor.
VILLA AZUR | Miami, FL
At Villa Azur, FFD has created a restaurant and bar as layered, plush and detailed as a European vacation home. As you enter the grand marble foyer, furnished with antiques and cream-coloured drapes, you feel immediately drawn in. This is European elegance translated to the tropics – posh, but not pretentious.
The interior, which includes a bar and lounge in addition to the dining room, mimics the elegant, sumptuous yet relaxed style of cafés on the Côte d’Azur. It’s a mix of modern decor and French country style: wood-plank floors, bookshelves, chandeliers, fireplaces, flowing drapes, high-backed chairs, and a DJ booth. French doors open onto a landscaped courtyard – one of the most beautiful places to enjoy the delicious cuisine of Villa Azur.
MOON PALACE JAMAICA | James Ave, Jamaica
This hotel project marked Palace Resorts’ first resort location outside of Mexico. In conceiving the design, FFD enhanced the appeal of the facility with chic Caribbean décor and design that reflects the resort’s Jamaican setting.
The property includes five dining establishments and newly expanded meeting spaces, all designed by FFD in signature grand style. A tropical retreat that reflects both the respective and Jamaican backdrops. It is expected that Moon Palace Jamaica Grande will raise the bar in the all-inclusive category with the help of FFD’s designs.
MOON PALACE NIZUC | Cancun, Mexico
In this project, the renovation affected virtually all areas of the Nizuc, including the 120 rooms, main lobby, swimming pool, food court, gym, beauty salon and Tortugas Ballroom.
The lobby has been upgraded with irreverent elements such as elephant tusk chandeliers and cascading glass fixtures, and designed to incorporate European and Mexican design influences. The high ceilings create a sense of space, while the ivory walls combine with the vibrant artwork to add drama.
