A Fearless LA Home Design That Pays Homage To The ’60s

Located in the tree-lined Hollywood Hills, designer John McClain’s home design is the epitome of balanced eclecticism. Interior designer John McClain is used to take big risks in his everyday job. His inherited passion for this field makes the designer take some big steps in this field, and make some amazing interior design projects.
So when it came to the renovation of his own home design, he made the decision of turning it into a very unique and exquisite design, filled with ’60s vibes and design ideas. The size of his home is very modest (just about 940 square feet) but that didn’t stop Mclain from creating an extremely luxury home with his very own signature stamp.
To showcase his own signature eclecticism in his home design, while still honoring the building’s 1960s roots, McClain balanced the mid-century modern vibe with a darker, moodier, collected approach.

“my homes are a great amalgam of the things that I enjoy” he adds.

For him, the starting point was the kitchen. Having a photo reference of how it used to look like back in the ’60s, it was just a matter of merging that with his own interior design ideas.
