When most people think about interior designing they tend to think of it as a superficial profession, not even an art form, which it is. What most people don’t realize is that the same profession they tend to look upon might change an otherwise mundane existence into a daily emotional experience that lets you live away from the boundaries of your day to day routine.



Through the years many have attempted to steps into this ever-changing realm, and although many have to lead a long successful career, few were the ones that really changed one’s perception of space and its use. Here is a list of 10 interior designers that changed the world, divided into two parts for better enjoyment.
1. Philippe Starck
Starck is a famous French designer who covers quite a wide range of fields, from interior design, to chairs, from toothbrushes to electronic appliances. He was first recognized in 1982 when he designed the interior for former French president Francois Mitterrand’ s apartment. His most important furniture pieces are: Louis Ghost chair, Ero|S| chair, Bubble Club Sofa and Armchair, and La Bohème stool. As for interior design his works include The Peninsula Hong Kong in Hong Kong, Café Costes in Paris and other fashionable restaurants, lounges and clubs.

2. Karim Rashid
Karim Rashid is one of the best industrial designers of his generation and he comes from Egypt. He designed many products and also got involves in so many fields such as interiors, fashion, furniture, lighting, art and music to installations. Oaza Zdravlja pharmacy in Belgrade, Serbia – is one of his best interior design projects, he was able to transform a regular and totally boring pharmacy into a beautiful place with lots of fluid shapes and symbols.
3. Patricia Urquiola
Patricia Urquiola is a Spanish architect and designer, she is a prominent name in the world of interior design, having created many interesting and unique works. She developed many projects abroad and here is one of her best: the W Hotels Retreat & Spa on Vieques Island, opened in Puerto Rico.

4. Federico Delrosso
He’s an architect and he’s been one ever since 1996. However he was very much interested in the design within the walls of the buildings he created. This is how he managed to also become an interior designer and one of the best. He opened a design studio in Milan and he is well-known for his unexpected combinations of apparently divergent materials for example concrete with wood, glass and iron and even all of them together. He certainly is one of the loud voices of his generation.
5. Martin Brudnizki
Belongs to the young generation of interior designers who come from all over the world and are attracted by those two poles in the world of interior design: London and New York. Brudnizki actually comes from Sweden, but he is not a world famous designer and his works are requested on both continents. His style is described as being “minimalist deluxe” and this certainly says a lot about his vision.
