If you are at the Swedish capital for the Stockholm Furniture Fair, there is plenty to see and do in the city. Below, you’ll find how you could go about town if you are visiting Stockholm.

Museum of Modern Arthas one of the world’s finest collections of art from 1900 to the present day, with work from Dalí, Matisse, Bourgeois, Picasso to name a few this is a must when visiting Stockholm. Right now among others exhibitions they have “Image over Image” by Sturtevant, and “Grapefruit” by Yoko Ono.

Fotografiskaopened up in May 2010 with Annie Leibovitz exhibition “A Photographer’s Life 1990-2005″ and has since then been Swedens leading centre for contemporary photography. The museum has an exhibition space of 2,500 square meters, and features 4 major exhibitions per year and approximately 15-20 minor exhibitions. Current  exhibition is “Burning Beauty” by the american photographer David LaChapelle.

National Museumis one of Sweden’s premier museum of art and design. The collections comprise older paintings, sculpture, drawings and graphic art, and applied art and design up to the present day. At the moment they have four temporary exhibitions: Pride and Prejudice, Light and Darkness, Modern Life – France in the 19th Century and Slow Art.

Magasin 3Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall is one of Europe’s leading institutions for contemporary art. The next exhibition will be “Sneeze to Squeeze” by Mika Rottenberg and opens February 8, 2013.

Andréhn-SchiptjenkoHaving established itself as one of the leading galleries in Scandinavia and representing both emerging and mid-career contemporary artists, the gallery enjoys privileged relationships with museums and collectors. At this moment Peter Hagdahl exhibition is showing.

Galleri Jonas KleerupExhibitions, performances and events. Jonas founded his gallery in 2006 and started out with mixed conceptual art, video installation and performances with illustrators, photographers and painters. Now, it is all that and much more.

Lisa ElmqvistAt Östermalmshallen, just a 10 minute walk from The Lydmar, you’ll reach a wonderful food market at Östermalstorg. Stroll around between meat, vegetables, fish and other delicacies. Have a Toast Skagen and you’ll have enough energy for another round of shopping.

Råkultur, Esperanto, a Guide Michelin restaurant, opened a sushi restaurant in 2009. Tasty sushi, sashimi, temaki and more.

Rolfs Kök,  The founder Rolf had an idea to invite the guest in the creation of the dish, instead of just being served from a closed-up kitchen. Philosophy; Plainness and Quality.

Pubologi, According to themselves, Pubologi is not a dining room, not a bar and not a traditional pub. It is a hybrid of all three. We think it is great, especially the Saturday lunch.

B.A.R. Just around the corner from The Lydmar, there is a great fish restaurant. Industrial interior design, several fresh fishes to choose from and a lobster tank. Lunch or dinner is equally good.

Urban Deli, Located by Nytorget in the south part of town. A wonderful area that  is comparable with SoFo in NY. Shops, cafés and several restaurants. This one is part Deli, part restaurant. Go here for a nice weekend lunch in between trendy and hipp shopping.

PA & Co, Small, cozy and homey, with a meny that best can be described as an eclectic crossover. Make a reservation or wait in the bar to get a table. It is crowded every day of the week.

Mathias Dahlgren, Fine Dining of the highest international standards. Two star rated Matsalen or one star rated Matbaren, the choice is yours but either way, you’ll have a taste sensation.

Sturehof, Secure, consistent and absolutely packed with people every night. Sturehof is always right. Swedish classics permeats the menu and the wine list is most impressive.

East, The first (and best) modern asian restaurant in town. They have stayed truth to their original concept to combine different food cultures of Asia. The setting is Japanese-Scandinavian with graphical design stemming from high technological japanese culture.

Bistro Berns, Berns Salonger was founded in the mid 1800 century as a “Schweizeri”, where booze and bakeries were sold. Bistro Berns is the small French bistro in the park opposite Berns Salonger. Classical French food in a typical bistro environment. Simple, yet perfect.

La Vecchia Signora, The best Italian place in Stockholm. Authentic Italian cuisine with a romantic and candle-filled atmosphere. Located in the south part of Stockholm.
