When and Where Will Design Democracy 2026 Take Place?

Design Democracy 2026 will take place from September 18 to September 20, 2026, at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India.

The 2026 edition is expected to welcome more than 15,000 visitors and feature over 200 exhibitors, bringing together a diverse selection of brands, studios, architects, designers, and creative professionals.

The Designers and Creative Voices to Watch

One of the highlights of this event is its programme of talks and conversations featuring influential voices from architecture, interiors, urbanism, and contemporary design.

Among the speakers announced for the 2026 edition are Alfaz Miller, founder of ABM Architects; Ankon Mitra, architect, landscape designer, and sculptor; Dr. Jagan Shah, architect and urbanist; and Harshita Jhamtani, founder of Harshita Jhamtani Designs.

The programme also includes Kumpal Vaid, founder and principal designer of Purple Backyard, and Ridhi Jalan Khosla, an interior stylist and design content creator. Design, Sustainability and New Perspectives

Sustainability will also play an important role at Design Democracy 2026. One of the special exhibitions, Root & Radiance, is curated by Jasem Pirani and Huzefa Rangwala of MuseLAB and brings together twenty contributors to explore responsible approaches to product and lighting design.

The exhibition focuses on materials, longevity, repairability, and the relationship between people and the objects they choose to live with. Another special exhibition, After Life: On the Objects That Continue to Matter, curated by Monika and Sarah Choudhary of Habitat Architects, will explore the lasting value and meaning of objects beyond changing trends.
