The stunning views, the open space and modern architecture has been achieved in the reform of this flat by the river in Moscow, the architect Olga Surkova of Moon Studio has managed to create a sense of freedom in its interiors.
The architectural project had its moments of difficulty. The beveled ceilings and the three windows in the ceiling hidden behind wooden coverings that allow connecting the intelligent curtains to protect the house from the heat were a challenge. “We had to dedicate a lot of time to engineering,” explains Olga Surkova of Moon Studio, “but I like the difficulties. They are a new experience. ”
The modern furniture in this interior design project highlights the unique views, the clients wanted to admire the landscape at any point and the windows were the absolute protagonists. No television in the living room and even the desks are located in a position that while working they can contemplate the landscape.
The great height of the ceiling also adds to the feeling of spaciousness, which at its highest point reaches five and a half meters, taking advantage of the mezzanine. On the first level, you will find all the common spaces and, in the second, the cinema room, the yoga room, and the bedrooms. The rooms with lower ceilings have wall lamps to also favor a feeling of higher spaces.
The home decor used by the designer is perfect to suit the interiors. Clients asked for a decor that wouldn’t go out of style, explains Olga Surkova. “Something that will not be obsolete in a few years and that reflects the trend, tastes, and way of life of the owners. There was great work to create a welcoming home, which has something to tell. ”
The owners sent pictures of objects and furniture from China that they liked and the architect selected some of them to integrate the interior design without breaking the style, for example, dining room chairs and the table. The rest of the furniture was made to measure.
