Disco Volante
Perched in the hills of Bel Air, Disco Volante reveals ARRCC at its most daring. Inspired by the seductive atmosphere of 1970s James Bond culture, the residence challenges conventional ideas of contemporary luxury. Bold graphic forms and unexpected proportions establish a cinematic character, while marble, brushed bronze and masculine metals create a darker, more mysterious material palette.
The result is unapologetically expressive. Here, furniture and finishes do more than complete the architecture. They build atmosphere. Metallic surfaces capture the light, marble introduces visual depth, and sculptural forms become defining moments within the rooms.
Palisades
In the affluent Pacific Palisades neighbourhood of Los Angeles, ARRCC demonstrates that sophistication does not have to mean restraint without personality. Natural fibres establish warmth throughout the residence, while vibrant colours emerge through carefully selected art, sculpture and fabrics. The composition feels curated and personal rather than overly formal. At the heart of the Great Room, an extraordinary object captures the spirit of the project: the client’s vintage Formula One racing car, mounted on the wall and transformed by Los Angeles artist Alec Monopoly.
It becomes more than decoration. It is a focal point that communicates identity.
This idea is particularly relevant to collectible design. The most memorable interiors often contain objects capable of becoming part of the owner’s story.Palisades proves that an interior becomes truly individual when personal expression is allowed to take centre stage.
Villa Kiyovu
With Villa Kiyovu in Kigali, Rwanda, ARRCC’s international portfolio moves into another cultural and geographical context. The project reflects the global reach that has become central to the studio’s identity. Rather than allowing a recognisable house style to dictate every interior, ARRCC’s broader body of work demonstrates an ability to respond to different clients, locations and ways of living.
Villa Kiyovu belongs within this conversation as an example of contemporary residential design shaped beyond the traditional centres of luxury. This approach also speaks to the importance of bespoke creation. Exceptional residential interiors increasingly demand pieces that respond to architecture rather than simply being placed within it.
City Heights
In Cape Town, City Heights becomes a celebration of materiality. ARRCC combines walnut, precious marble and an extraordinary variety of metallic finishes, from polished surfaces to tarnished and patinated effects. A dark marble insert meets a patinated brass kitchen countertop, while custom furniture introduces forms specifically conceived for the residence.
The dining area is particularly expressive. A bespoke walnut table with a marble centrepiece sits beneath sculptural brass lighting, establishing a dialogue between craftsmanship, geometry and material. Throughout the home, custom-designed pieces coexist with internationally recognised contemporary furniture and art.
Cheetah Plains:
At Cheetah Plains, in South Africa’s Sabi Sand, ARRCC takes craftsmanship into the landscape. The interiors preserve the rawness of the architecture while introducing luxurious furniture, tactile surfaces and contemporary African art. The relationship between interior and exterior remains deliberately fluid, allowing the surrounding environment to become part of the experience.
Furniture was custom designed by ARRCC and OKHA in collaboration with local craftsmen. Organic leadwood dining tables, leather seating and dramatic hand-blown glass chandeliers reinforce the connection between human skill and natural material.
Rather than depending on mass-produced objects, the project celebrates pieces shaped by hand. At Cheetah Plains, as in the finest handcrafted furniture, material carries a story.
