An elegant and luxury apartment in Moscow is the home of the interior designer Leyla Uluhanli and her family in the historical center of Moscow, with a retro-chic feeling this space is full of incredible details.
“When all the rooms have natural light, beautiful views from the windows and high ceilings, everything else depends on taste and aesthetics “, says the designer and owner of the apartment, Leyla Uluhanli.
“Despite being so large, it lacked functional space and sources of natural light, so we had to increase the number of rooms respecting the refined historical features of the building.”
For this reason, the architect designed a new plan, which included additional bathrooms and dressing rooms for each member of the family.
Respecting the historic building, the original elements remained absolutely intact, preserving the natural stucco where it was possible, or replacing it with faithful copies when it was impossible to maintain it.
The strong link with the past is reflected in clear lines, proportions, and details. The classic décor, the light colored walls, and the parquet floor are the backdrop for a postmodern minimalist furniture, with vintage and antique objects, from Leyla’s personal collections.
Comfort and elegance are the keywords in this interior, with clean lines, modern furniture, and quality fabrics. The attention to detail is evident, and bring a very personal atmosphere into this modern house. In fact, the contemporary interior combines three very different stylistic periods, on the one hand, the Art-Déco, the classic and the so-called American Retro-Chic of the 60s.
