The design approach for the interior design of this historical townhouse was to join interior and art, to highlight, celebrate and honor the exquisite artworks of the homeowner. At the same time, the designers were tasked with creating a warm family and versatile home, which can be transformed into elegant and sophisticated spaces respectively for large dinner parties. The client was very much interested in maintaining a clean and bright contemporary interior as well as restoring the classical moldings in the historic townhouse. A contrast that the design studio enjoyed playing with the layout, the modern furniture selection, the bespoke interior millwork, color scheme, material combinations and integrating the client’s beautiful art collection.

In response to the client’s wishes, Piet Boon Studio created design solutions that strengthened the overall experience and laid emphasis on the art pieces, bespoke detailing and high-quality finishing’s. Respecting the traditional and rich heritage of the building, by even adding more richness, and providing the interior with a very light yet warm grey/white ton-sur-ton color scheme, perfectly complements the integrated art and contemporary elements on the different floors.
